Piper decides that she needs a fresh start, so she moves to New York in hopes of getting it. New state, new job, new apartment. She can handle this. Piper is a smart, beautiful, and extremely organized woman. She is also a bit of a homebody. Which is why her sister feels the need to push her outside of her comfort zone. That’s how she gets talked into going on a blind date in order to meet new people and get some excitement in her life. Well it works and she ends up having a great time. That time is short-live though and it was only for one night. Things get a little complicated for Piper when she finds out that her blind date (Jackson Dane) is also her new boss. No problem, she can do this right?

Jackson is a handsome and successful business owner. He takes pride in what he has and works very hard for it. But he also likes to have fun whenever he can. Relationships are not his forte. Being tied down to one person, isn’t an option for him. He prefers simple casual flings.
Even though both Piper and Jackson know that working together sounds like a recipe for disaster, they agree to give it a try. I mean how hard can it be to work closely with someone you’re very attracted to while maintaining absolute professionalism?

Misadventures with the Boss was a light and fun romantic read. It was well written and the pace of the story was just right. I loved the romance between these two. Jackson and Piper had great chemistry and the bedroom scenes were scorching hot! They had a wonderful banter and seemed to work well together both professionally and personally. They just might be my favorite book couple so far this year. If your in the market for a quick romance with some light humor sprinkled in, give this book a read.

I think in the 2 stories from this series I’ve read this one had the most appeal to me, I do love a good CEO boss and employee love story and this has all the makings for a 5 star read. Sadly while it started great, the middle had me hooked but by the end it was all finished so quickly I felt like a huge part of the book was missing hence my 3.5 stars.

Piper Daniels is starting over with a pain in the but medaling sister, and a new job starting Monday she is pushed by said sister, Hailey to set up a date through an app, she meets up with her mystery man, in a sexy explosive night of sex. Only discovering that mr sexy, rock her world is none other than Jackson Dane, owner and CEO of her new job, as his assistant. Their chemistry those few days later is as hot as that night, that she cannot get out of her mind.

Jackson Dane has a very full life as owner of his own company he spends most days working himself and his assistants to the bone. Sadly those assistants do not agree with his work ethic, there are no days off… But after a dating app query and a night he can’t forget with a certain redhead he’s about to meet his match.

Crashing his sex life was one thing but super organised assistant Piper turns his work life upside down too. Knowing that having her just at work isn’t enough, so he puts in place a new contract. Work colleagues by day, sex partners by night. Unsure if this is the right change for her Piper can’t walk away from the man that gives pleasure like no other. But when everything changes and Piper walks away leaving Jackson reeling, he’ll be the one to come crawling, Mr alpha CEO can’t control everything and what happens with Piper will be thrown into the air.
I felt as if I was reading a different style of writing by Kendall Ryan with this book . Definitely dirtier ( I liked that ) and use of words or phrases that were British eg lift and a que, in the US we call a lift an elevator and a que - is when you stand in line
Why mention this? because the setting of this book was in New York City and both h\h are from the USA words just threw me off but not a big deal .
Jackson and Piper met by way of a on line hook up, she very reluctantly agreed to go on a date that her sister agreed to while setting up her profile. ( she's new in the city and needs to have some fun )
Jackson is a busy man who is just looking for a no strings attach night picks Piper profile and asks for a date. ( He had a lot to choose from but felt something while looking at her profile)
Both meeting each other for different reasons , when they meet its hot their hook up even hotter.
When Piper begins her new job in a new city, her hot hookup turns out to be her boss. Get ready for a little hot, dirty, office romance . There are sweet moments as well with Jackson as he falls for Piper.
I don't understand why most recent romances start hot and end with a baby. Is pregnancy some kind of penance for enjoying sex? Well, it's boring and predictable and disappointing. To all romance writers find a new ending.
Not sure why the this book has high ratings. Characters and their (6 week) relationship are not well developed. The high powered real estate boss seems to be rather helpless and waiting for an assistant to organize his office, to do list, merger plans etc. The business is strangely low tech. Piper organizes Jackson’s time with white boards instead of scheduling software and paper employee files are locked in a closet. I generally dislike the “whoops we’re pregnant” trope especially when paired with “we’re madly in love (after 6 weeks)”
