Horrible perceptions of women: they are either to be used and discarded or are the "marriage" type. Had a weird thing for marines and everyone kept thanking the "hero" for his service and protecting his country and praising him. I get it but it didn't need to happen like 5 or 6 times. He was just a rich jerk who remained a rich jerk. Also he just seemed to expect the heroine to immediately forgive him for ruining her life. Like, "hey I'm back in town, get over yourself, lets bang." It was weird.

Rebel eBook RR Banks Reviews

Amazing story! I felt the various emotions anger, vengeance and love. Worth the Read! Looking forward to reading more from this author!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book I couldn't pur it down. It was a great read from start to finish
Semi ok. I thought some the scenes were silly and so exaggerated and over the top. For instance 1. The sex scene in the elevator?? It was supposed to only be going up 3 floors and as long as that scene was I swear they were going to the top of a skyscraper. 2. If you had public sex with someone and they humiliated youwhen you were young I personally would not do that with them again even if it was so many years later. Kinda silly in my opinion. There were other parts that were cheesy too.
I didn't hate Rebel, but I didn't love it, either. I gave 3 stars overall, however, because there was a heap of bonus content that wasn't too bad. The main story, Rebel, was okay. The story was over the top and unrealistic, but it was an easy enough read. Bree, the darling of the small town she lives in, has a raunchy one night stand with a masked, unknown man at her 18th birthday party. Long story short, he had taken a video of their encounter and it was uploaded (not by him) to the internet. Bree is disgraced and basically kept at home to avoid further scandal and the shame she brought to her conservative family. She ends up pregnant and has a child to the stranger who she finds out is Milo, the son of a rival family. This left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. He felt bad and liked Bree but went off on his merry way with no effort to make contact with her after ruining her life and she is stuck with her emotionally abusive family where she is basically a prisoner, including her child who isn't allowed off the estate. There was a heap of reference to this throughout the book, including the terrible thing she'd done. This also didn't sit well with me as it constantly gave the vibe that Bree had done this terrible thing. She hadn't - he filmed her WITHOUT CONSENT and then showed his brothers to win a bet. Milo then leaves for the Marines after a heart to heart with the town sheriff and returns to make a cazillion dollars with his own security business. Of course he does...

The book needed some further editing. There were typos and some confusion in the story line. For example, it was supposed to a super small town, but there were four Starbucks. There was also a lot of reference to having to hide from the media. I've lived in small and large towns and have never seen the media fixated on a sex video of a teenager, particularly 8 years after the fact. Her family were cold and horrible to her and all of a sudden, this was forgotten and they're all best friends again. A lot of the language through the book bordered on the ridiculous. Bree was easily 'wet' and he's 'hard'. How she was so turned on by him when Milo treated her terribly, I don't know. Maybe all the captivity affected her mental state? It didn't sound as if they'd grown up at all. The book started with a masquerade ball where the son of a hated, rival family snuck in. They were captivated by each other, so pretty much it was a rewrite of Romeo and Juliet. The dirty talk was terrible.

Oh, and just a small peeve - the writing is large. It's not the standard font size that you have it set on for other books. I don't know why this happens, but it reminds me of school kids writing in a larger font size so their assignment looks longer than it is.

I've purchased a couple of books by this author before, so most of the bonus books I've already read, but there was enough there to keep me going for a while. The books were Saving Her (I probably liked this more than Rebel. It was a about a pregnant girl running from the cult compound she'd been imprisoned at), Major O (this had been included in another book by the same author. I still haven't read it as the description doesn't appeal to me at all), and Holiday Collection (a couple of Christmas short stories that are pretty good).
I enjoy a good story and R.R. Banks sure brings that out in her writing!
Family feuds, boy meets girl at a masquerade party, there is connection between the two but boy has as a bet with his brothers, a video is produced and all heck breaks lose!!
Boy joins the Marines and eight years later he returns because the death of his brother and to end this stupid feud!
Will boy and girl get their Happily Ever After or will be bloodshed?
To find out you need to read this book!
Loved this story. A lot like Romeo and Juliet with a big influence of the Hatfields and McCoys.Milo and Bree are perfect for each other. They share a brief (and hot) encounter in the gazebo at her 18th birthday. Milo knows who she is, but she doesn't know him. He leaves home and returns 7 years later. Without giving away the story, it only gets better and we even get a HEA at the end.
I bought Rebel on a whim. I saw an ad for it on a social networking site, read the comments, read the reviews, then thought, “Hey, it’s only $0.99. If I don’t like it, I’m not out much.” Well, I loved the story, the characters, the tragedy, and the romance. The whole story is pretty much gut-wrenching and full of heartache. A decades old feud has Milo and Bree on opposite sides of the line drawn in the sand. Rebel is set in your typical small town but the old-fashioned feud is less typical and comes to a dangerous culmination, sides are chosen, and lives are lost. The twists and turns make for a very suspenseful read.

Bree, Milo, and the Longstreet and Sheridan clans are wonderful, well-developed characters. The author does a great job describing the characters and building a world the reader can visualize. The emotional content; happy, sad, and everything in between, adds believable depth to the characters, the situations, the romance, and the feud. Feuds in stories are nothing new, however, R.R. Banks does a great job developing one that’s different from anything I’ve read.

I’m glad I took a chance on Rebel. I was not disappointed in the story, characters, or theme. Please note, though, that the book isn’t as long as the file you’ll get. Even so, the story is developed well, enjoyable, and has a satisfying ending.
